Ever since 2008, SCC has been hosting a musical event based on the TV show "American Idol", appropriately called "SCC Idol." Held on Oct 5, this performance featured 10 different singers, each one singing two songs. After each song, a three-judge panel gave criticism, advice and praise to each of the contestants.
The judges were: student Darian Johnson, STL Woman's choir member Kourtney Strade and our own Marvin Tobias.
The event was hosted by Cassandra Hagen and B.J. White, who warmed up the audience and introduced the performers.

Audience members were encouraged to vote for their favorite performer using their cell phones and the results were instantly displayed on a projection screen.
The Instructional Media Department videotaped the entire event for posterity!
Having attended several of these events, I can honestly say the talent just gets better every year!
