Schnare Library Dedication 2007

I thought I would share some images I took at the ceremony to dedicate the LRC as the Paul and Helen Schnare Library. This event was newsworthy in that it brought about a reunion of college employees from the early days and both of our college presidents, as well.

The late Paul Schnare was a member of our original Board of Trustees and some of the first Board meetings were held at the Schnare home.

Dr. Donald Shook, SCCs first President, came from Kansas City  for the ceremony.

Dr. Shook and his wife June talk with Board member Dan Conoyer.

Dan Conoyer discusses old times with Bill Berry and Winnie Stufflebam.

Current SCC President John McGuire was also on hand to greet the many attendees.

SCC Food Service provided excellent refreshments and presented them in an elegant manner.

Past and current LRC employees witness the proceedings.

Past Marketing VP Winnie Stufflebam reminisces with Dr. McGuire.

Former library Director Joan Clarke shares a light moment with Head Reference Librarian Ying Li.

Former Technical Services head Fran Stumpf came from Columbia to help us celebrate.

Helen Schnare remembers old times with the Shooks.

Both Presidents discuss things with former Board member Billie Collier.

Jason Wathen videos the events while Alan Hoeckelman looks on.

Faculty members Kevin Patton and Joyce Lindstrom were some of the college's first instructors.

Some of the excellent refreshments provided for guests.

Former LRC employee, Tara Thater, brought her new daughter.

Patrick Vaughn, Michael Banks and Donna Davis also attended.

The number of guests show that many members of the campus community value the services provided by our college library.
